Seven Detained in Connection with Suspected Prostitution in Marrakech
In the early hours of Wednesday, October 28, 2026, members of the Royal Gendarmerie in Tissalant, situated in the outskirts of Marrakech, apprehended seven individuals—three women and four men—on suspicion of their involvement in illegal activities within a house located in the Douar Koko area. This operation was initiated following a complaint lodged by the owner of the residence, accompanied by her husband and another woman, regarding an alleged assault on a delivery person by a neighbor. This prompted gendarmerie officials to investigate the incident further.
During the questioning of the involved parties, the complainant revealed that his visit to the house was intended for engaging in sexual activities for a fee, a statement that led investigators to broaden their inquiry into the potential illicit activities being conducted at the residence. As the investigation unfolded, the owner of the house reportedly admitted to utilizing the premises to attract women for prostitution in exchange for monetary compensation. It was also disclosed that her husband was receiving a share of the profits in return for concealing these activities, a matter that is now under judicial investigation.
